Another Wall, 35/100 Days of Code
I upgraded to the latest version of React Native, right before running into a problem with react navigation.
I just tested the brand new React Native 0.60.0. After upgrading, I initialized a new app and ran it in my Android Emulator.
I like that new apps display helpful links and resources by default. This is excellent for helping new developers get acclimated to this framework (click below).
I installed the react-navigation and react-native-gesture-handler packages. However, I came across a compiler error when I tried to build the app (click below).
Curious, I tested building the app without additional packages, with the react navigation package, and finally, with the react-navigation and react-native-gesture-handler packages. I only came across this error when the last package was installed.
I didn’t make any changes to my App.js file, and I only installed the two aforementioned packages. I’m not sure what the fix will be for this issue, but I’ll write each screen of my multi-screen apps as separate App.js files and merge them once this issue has been corrected.
