My First App Made It To The Play Store,…

The time has come. The Salesman’s Travel app is now live on Google Play!

Today I’m going over my musings on the journey thus far and what’s next for me. You can find a video of this at the bottom of the page and a link to the app here.

I’m a better learner than I give myself credit for. I spent years listening to professors tell me about the great life I’ll have once I get a degree and enter the software industry. Compared to their stories, it’s been a huge disappointment.

Most companies operate like the restaurants and retail jobs I worked for years. The structure has a variety of levels for employees where the power flows down from the top.

The tinkering and playing around with technology ends up in the background while I navigate political structures instead.

So, I tried it for myself. I set up a company, came up with an idea for an app, and made it. And it was the most rewarding experience of my life!

I was the product manager, designer, developer, and tester during the whole process. I saw how each section fit together and found a balance that allowed me to create this application.

I hit many walls and had to stop to research solutions. Other times I had to create my own solutions from scratch. In the end, I found the answers I was looking for in the field of software development.

I’ll continue turning my ideas in to applications and sharing my work with the world. I know you’ll find value in it and my hope is that you’ll look within yourself and find your own answers as well.

You can download the Salesman’s Travel app here.
