Bump in the road! 100 Days of code, 2…

  • May 6, 2017January 10, 2018
  • by Richard Clarke

Ah, the second day of coding. How sweet it is. It’s even better when you make significant progress. That wasn’t the case for me…

So I got Android Studio updated and ready to go. And then I saw this

My desktop CMOS battery died!

The CMOS battery powers a part of the motherboard that stores hardware and date/time settings.

Since it died, my computer thinks it’s September 2010!

It seems this error occurs if the desktop time and date is set prior to November 5th 2013. Perhaps this date has some sort of significance? Maybe it’s the time Android Studio was created.

Only one way to find out! Time for troubleshooting with a touch of research. See you on Day 3!
